Job Description:
 A company making outfits seeks a Microsoft Systems Engineer with 7+ years’ experience in IT engineering position. The role of the systems engineer is to perform engineer design, capacity planning, implementation and support of Microsoft Systems infrastructure, server, network and telecommunications systems. Will participate on project teams in the technical lead role. Will also become involved in operational projects aimed at improving business partner and technical operations. The systems engineer provides third-level support, project handover documentation/training and general technical guidance to the support services team. Works closely with business partners in the US and Europe at all levels. Partners with field employees and management at all levels. Builds relationships and partners with external vendors. Provide level III support on server, network and telecommunications environments. Monitor complex systems and recommend solutions to improve effectiveness. Implement network infrastructure and ensure that network documentation is updated to reflect changes. Ensure security and disaster recovery backups are taken on a regular basis and manage data storage and security. Support the planning and installation of new systems and upgrades. Demonstrate a good understanding of project management and full project life cycle. Provide input to a task level work plan, identifying activities and hours estimates for all systems development lifecycle phases of the effort. Develop technical design specifications. Participate in vendor software evaluations as necessary. Work closely with the business to identify possible IT solutions that could benefit the business or system performance/stability. Develop and demonstrate knowledge of retail operating procedures. Discusses and presents information and issues to IT management and business partners. Partners with IT project manager and business analyst team to ensure business requirements are fully met. The preferred candidate should have B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering. Should have general IT certifications like: A+, Network+, Cisco/or Microsoft Certifications (CCNA, MCP, MCSE Preferred). Strong Server and general Infrastructure knowledge is required. Should have strong Microsoft knowledge to include hands on experience with the following platforms: Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise and Standard); Active Directory; Group Policy, Logon Scripting (.vbs); File Services; DFS; DFSRS; Microsoft Exchange; Sharepoint (MOSS 2007); Office Communications Server.
