Job Description:
 A commercial testing company and education publisher seeks a Web Developer with 3+ years’ experience developing dynamic web applications using Linux/Apache/mySQL/PhP (LAMP) technologies. This position will report to the director of software engineering to support community applications for family education network's growing online publishing business. Job responsibilities include developing drupal templates and themes for community applications, configuring and administering new and existing drupal sites, developing PHP for interfaces to related sites within family education network, and deploying contributed and custom modules in the drupal environment. The position will work within a team of engineers, content managers and product managers to develop engaging and interactive content and applications on the drupal platform. The applicant will assist in defining technical requirements; estimating levels of effort; and designing, architecting and implementing robust and scalable products and applications that directly support the growth of interactive and community presence, including blogs, forums, polls, quizzes, content rating systems, and personalized content. The candidate should have B.S. degree in computer science or related discipline. Specific experience with development, management, and deployment of drupal sites and applications. Demonstrated experience with XHTML/CSS/XML/XSL and Javascript programming. Working knowledge of AJAX and other related client-side technologies. Experience developing applications for high volume, high traffic web sites a plus. The position requires detailed knowledge of drupal, solid experience managing drupal sites and systems, good PHP and CSS skills, and familiarity with revision control systems such as CVS and Subversion.
