Job Description:
 A financial services company focused primarily on real estate finance and related activities seeks an Operations Manager with 3+ years’ experience in a mortgage lending environment. The candidate will be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day activities of the loan specialists, processing and underwriting. Will be underwriting and overseeing the closing activities for loans in the pipeline. Performing other general-office functions (as assigned). Pre-qualifying potential loan-applicants. Providing guidance, training and assistance to lower-level office personnel. Assisting the office manager with all facets of office operation. Providing performance feedback to the Office Manager and, as appropriate, recommending course of action. Acting as office manager in the absence of the manager (with exception to hiring, firing and disciplinary functions). Reviewing all incoming documents, underwriting loans and reviewing necessary pre-closing items and conditions. Informing all concerned parties of final-loan approval. Reviewing closing documents and shipping files to central office. Taking loan applications from customers and processing in accordance with guidelines and truth-in-lending rules and regulations. Calling-out approvals (as directed by Office Manager) and sending-out approval letters and weekly progress-reports. Reviewing files (on a weekly basis) using the tickler system. Maintaining a master to-do list for office. Updating night recorder (on a daily basis) in accordance with office operational-procedures. The candidate should have high school diploma or equivalent. knowledge of pre-qualifying, reviewing, analyzing, processing, underwriting and loan-closing documents Specialized, working knowledge of mortgage-lending processes—including underwriting of A and A- loans and mortgage-lending statutes (TILA, RESPA, ECOA) Knowledge of the mortgage industry including trends and current developments such as gained through local and/or regional industry-contacts and professional group participation. The ideal candidate may also possess: Bachelor’s degree; DE certification and Knowledge of loan quality control policies, procedures and administrative practices.
