Job Description:
 A mutual fund firm seeks an Accounting Manager with 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance or a related function. The candidate will oversee the general ledger accounting and financial reporting for a number of mutual funds within American funds family. Oversee the daily and periodic accounting responsibilities, including determining the daily net asset value of the mutual funds. Other responsibilities include: Work with managers and fund treasurers to report fund information to fund officers and board of directors; oversee fund financial reporting, including annual and semi-annual reports, SEC filings and board of directors’ reports; analyze accounting and investment impacts to general ledger and tax reporting; review fund transactions, including dividends, interest, corporate actions, fund and portfolio purchases and sales; lead special projects. Opportunity to work on special projects involving new business issues and to present mutual fund reports to fund officers. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a related degree. CPA or M.B.A. a plus. Should have at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience. GAAP and SEC reporting experience a plus. General knowledge of mutual funds and experience in the investment management industry a plus.
