Job Description:
 A not-for-profit organization providing health care services seeks a Director of Accounting with 10+ years of progressive related experience, including previous management responsibility in a complex operating environment. The position provides direct operational leadership and direction to internal and external financial reporting and treasury management processes; and establishes sound internal controls to ensure data integrity and related regulatory compliance. Provides leadership and development for the accounting staff. Plans, directs and coordinates all general accounting operational functions. Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated financial results. Directs the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related statistical reports. Develops and maintains organizational wide accounting and treasury policies and procedures. Directs the operational aspects of the treasury management function including investments, debt management and banking related services. Directs the development and maintenance of allied accounting records to ensure appropriate documentation and analysis of financial transactions. Plans, organizes and coordinates the year-end close process with internal and external auditors. Recruits, trains and develops continuous training of competent accounting staff. Develops strategic plans and budgets for the accounting unit, and authorizes related expenditures. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Advanced business administration degree (M.B.A.), certified public accountant (CPA), or certified management accountant (CMA) preferred. Strong accounting, communication, organizational, and leadership skills required. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP) required.
