Job Description:
Description: As a full-time academically oriented Psychiatrist, the selected candidate will work in the Outpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment Program (CDTP) and will be instrumental in developing a new Buprenorphine Treatment clinic. The selected Psychiatrist will also perform general medical and mental health assessments and treatment plans in an inter-disciplinary setting to include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, physician assistants, addiction therapists as well as residents. The CDTP is a cognitive-behavioral oriented program which utilizes motivational interviewing techniques.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: Must meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappraisal in accordance with the clinic's Credentialing and Privileging to practice medicine prior to beginning work. Candidates will be reviewed for meeting the clinic's credentialing and privilege to practice medicine qualifications only upon successful acceptance of the candidate's pre-screened qualifications.
Effective communication skills are required, both verbally and in writing, with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the clinic. Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work collaboratively with other team members or personnel within the clinic as required. Candidate must be able to work independently with a high level of maturity and proficiency, must be willing to plan and manage multiple assignments, and possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Selected candidate will be subject to successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening prior to employment. Candidates must submit copies of their curriculum vitae, licensures, certifications, and current references for license verification and review of qualifications for further consideration.
This position will require on-call responsibilities for 7 days at a time, on average of once every 10 to 12 weeks. Salary will be commensurate with individual experience and qualifications.
Education: M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy (or international equivalent) plus completion of at least 4 years of accredited residency training, including a minimum of 3 years in psychiatry is required.
Other Requirements: All applicants selected may be subject to a background investigation and must be licensed in the State of California, Board Certified in the practice of adult psychiatry, and be a citizen of the United States or permanent resident alien.
