Job Description:
Oversee oil and gas revenue accounting function, including responsibility for all related accounts receivable, revenues, expenses, taxes, royalties, and reporting requirements.



Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. C.P.A. preferred. Master’s degree in Accounting or M.B.A. a plus. Minimum of 5 years’ work experience required, with hands-on revenue accounting experience. Management experience, including staffing and supervision, required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software. Must have strong communication skills, particularly verbal, be a self-starter, and possess strong analytical skills. Must be able to “see big picture” in addition to handling details.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide leadership and technical guidance to staff of professional-level accountants.

· Compile accurate monthly/quarterly reports for oil and gas field level results.

· Provide monthly/quarterly variance analysis to Management and others.

· Provide timely support to internal customers; visit regional offices quarterly.

· Record monthly oil and gas revenues and all related entries and disbursements for co-owner, royalty and tax obligations.

· Record, analyze and reconcile monthly revenue accruals; compare to actual results.

· Perform monthly price and volume flux analysis.

· Provide quarterly support and analysis for revenue related balance sheet accounts.

· Calculate depletion rates and record depletion expense.

· Support ad hoc system queries.

· Assist with internal and external audit requests.

· Assist with development of policies and procedures to support accounting functions.

· Identify and implement revenue accounting process and system enhancements.

· Research and resolve revenue accounting issues with partners and internal customers.

· Assist with acquisition due diligence and transition new properties into SAP.

· Provide price and volume information for reserve study.

· Track partner and pipeline gas balancing.

· Perform special tax, revenue or joint venture analysis and other projects, as needed.
