Job Description:
 An international media company with market-leading businesses in education, business information and consumer publishing seeks a Graphic Designer with 3+ years’ relevant experience. The candidate will help develop an exciting, new web-based rich media product. This position requires the candidate to develop custom vector-based graphics, icons, presentations, and user interfaces. The graphic designer will work closely with the team to establish and maintain design solutions and rapidly prototype interface concepts, participate in usability evaluation and iterate designs based on feedback. Collaborate with graphic artists, instructional designers and development team. Prepare and maintain style guides. Interact with development team to ensure successful and accurate transition of user interface designs to production and ensure execution of the final user interface as intended. Create and maintain user interface design specifications (detail documentation of interface design, including aesthetic guidelines and screen-level interactions). Take user interface from concept to completion in ways that engage, attract and communicate accurately. Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables. Work hand-in-hand with instructional designers, graphic designers and programmers to create rich Internet applications using the Flash MX development environment. This position requires vector-based design and the desired candidate must have experience designing in Macromedia Flash and Adobe Creative Suite 2. Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images and interactivity impact design is also necessary. Knowledge of semantic xhtml and css is required.
