Job Description:
 A company making medical supplies used in minimally invasive surgical procedures seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with 5+ years of project management and strong manufacturing engineering experience in supplier development/manufacturing engineering. The candidate will lead and execute activities related to improving quality and performance including: Process capability assessment - definition - improvement, issue resolution, transition management, high risk material management. Drive process improvement using lean and six sigma methodologies and other best practices. Identify and eliminate barriers leading to success and ensure project recommendations are implemented and sustained by evaluating root cause, recommending corrective action and following-up with stakeholders to ensure actions are effective. Ensure that selection, development, and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling are performed to meet current ISO, FDA, and regulatory requirements. Partner with internal groups such as procurement, supplier development, supplier quality engineering, logistics, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering to resolve issues. Work with engineering functions for resolution and escalation of technical issues and undertake personal technical authority on part specific issues as designated by appropriate technical authority. Execute high risk materials projects. Facilitate, manage and execute qualification testing that leads to the approval of components for use in implantable products. Assist with the review and approval of new suppliers. Participate on cross plant initiatives; learn of best practices and opportunities to benchmark other site practices. The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience. Should have functional expertise in industrial or manufacturing engineering. Graduate degree very desirable. PMI, lean or six sigma certifications desired. Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes is essential. Medical device experience preferred.
