Job Description:
We are seeking an Application Developer with Ruby on Rails experience. The position is responsible for implementing Ruby on Rails solutions using an Agile Development methodology within a team environment.
Job Requirements:
Required
* 1+ years Ruby on Rails Experience
* 3+ years PHP 4 & 5 development experience
* 3+ years experience writing HTML, XHTML, XML, JavaScript and CSS (Cross Browser) from scratch (hand-coded)
* LAMP
* Linux, Apache, MySQL
* Knowledge of Iterative Software Development Methodologies (RUP, agile, XP)
* Knowledge and Experience using Open Source
* Ability to create secure, scalable, and efficient applications for use in high-volume environments
* Ability to translate project design into code
* Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
* Review and prepare design specs and give time estimations
* Enthusiasm for emerging technology (AJAX and Web 2.0 APIs)
* Object Orientated Programming Methodologies
* Working Knowledge of the MVC (Model View Controller) Architecture
* Relational Database Design (Database Normalization)
* Complex SQL query Authoring and Optimization (MySQL)
* Version Control (Subversion, CVS)
* Ability and desire to excel in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and accept interruptions
and setbacks as part of the routine
* Ability to demonstrate previous experience with medium to large scale web applications
