Job Description:

A world leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of electronic test tools and software seeks a Manufacturing Engineer with 1-3 years’ experience. The candidate will play a key role within the Operations organization. Advise engineering of existing production capabilities, equipment, facilities and standard practices to contribute to the development of designs; coordinate with support groups to ensure capabilities and capacity are developed to support new products. Ensure manufacturability, quality, cost, operating specifications, customer and company standards requirements are achieved by reviewing and evaluating new product designs. Plan, define and implement new manufacturing systems as needed for new product introductions. Prepare cost estimates, bills of material and revisions to engineering drawings and related specifications. Prepare proposals, personnel and cost estimates, and work schedules to meet production release dates; report on product status, design, components, and materials. May plan and coordinate pilot and first production run schedules; establish standard manufacturing times. Prepare and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement programs. Sustain current production by providing support for quality issues, production equipment problems and part documentation errors by determining the root cause and implementing corrective actions. Provide technical input and design changes to maintain work-in-process schedules. May assume project responsibility for specific design or related assignments assuring project remains on schedule and within budget. Maintain current knowledge regarding new developments, methods and trends in manufacturing engineering. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent in technical experience and education. Understanding of lean manufacturing preferred. Should have knowledge of engineering principles, practices and techniques commonly employed in the design and production of company products. Former injection molding experience using engineering grade thermoplastics and a thorough knowledge of injection mold tooling is a definite plus. Ability to communicate engineering concepts to non engineers is essential.
