Job Description:
APICS training and/or certifications are desirable. An incumbent reports to a Sourcing Manager responsible for material requirements planning and acquisition for specific commodities. Incumbent will interface with virtually every department in the company with the primary customers being Sourcing, Material Logistics, Engineering, Planning, Program Office's and, Trades. An MRP Controller will also interact with personnel from other organizations to ensure the company's commitments to cost, quality and schedule are met, or exceeded, as these areas relate to the supply chain process. In the Sourcing Department, this job will be transitional, requiring job incumbents to obtain the necessary competencies to function in the role of a Planner/Buyer, with concurrent responsibility for material requirements planning and acquisition. An incumbent will perform a variety of duties to facilitate and assist in managing the implementation of MRP and process improvement within all areas of the supply chain process. Reassignment to different links in the supply chain process would typically be necessary to further develop an incumbents operational knowledge and perspective. Depending on area assigned, responsibilities may be defined as: Implement and apply MRP II principles and processes to plan and manage the execution of a material replenishment/ acquisition strategy which effectively supports the supply chain process, including internal transfers of material, efficient use of military supply options, and requisition for purchase as appropriate.
