Job Description:
This is a great opportunity to be part of a new studio encouraging and engaging in a collaborative creative process. SOM is seeking Intermediate Level Interior Designers/Interior Architects with background in Hospitality, Residential and or Retail Design. Responsibilities include involvement and understanding of all phases of the design process from Concept/Schematic Design through Design Development and preparation of Construction Documents, as well as the ability to be team focused working on assigned tasks within a project. Primary Responsibilities: Ability to provide solutions in connection with the design of large and small projects, including concept, design development, construction documents and detailing. Exhibits understanding of design philosophy of projects and relates assigned tasks to that philosophy. Contributes to detailed preparation of design and construction documents. Checks and coordinates details and dimensions. Selection and knowledge of color, materials, finishes, furniture and fixtures. Assists in the review of custom millwork shop drawings, furniture submittals and material samples for general conformance with the design intent. Coordinates work with the project team. Background and Experience: Four-year Architectural or Interior Design degree. Minimum of five years experience in architectural documentation and design development or equivalent. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
