Develop and maintain a communications strategy. Be engaged with employees & maintain pulse on the organization by committing to adequate floor time. Actively participate in Plant Manager roundtable meetings, staff meetings and shift, quarterly and/or state-of the-plant meetings. Manages and oversees the development of the plant newsletter. Participate/lead management & employee task teams and periodically attends department/work group meetings. Manage the Hershey Employee Survey process and ensure accountability and follow-through by management. Report all high profile employee and public relations matters to HR, PR and Manufacturing. Workforce Management/Diversity • Manage entire selection process to include sourcing, interviewing, assessment instruments, background checks, job offers, relocation, orientation and integration. Develop annual staffing plan (salaried, hourly, temporary and contract labor) and manage requisition process. Manage people movement processes (i.e. layoffs, recalls, and transfers). Manage the exiting process and analyze turnover. Ensure interviewers are trained in Targeted Selection Interviewing. Manage the probationary process for new hires. Manage the relationship with our Temporary Staffing agencies. Assure quantity and quality of temporary staffing to meet the 24 hour 7 day production schedule. Develop, coordinate, follow up and maintain training to assure safe production of superior quality products. Manage the succession management process and ensure follow-up with development plans. Develop an informal network of minority & female employees to ensure that varying needs, concerns & perspectives are understood/ considered. Develop programs/initiatives to heighten awareness & appreciation for the differences in people.
