MANAGE EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCEConduct performance reviews with employeesDocumenting and conducting disciplinary actionEnsure employees have necessary skills and schedule training as necessary to fill gapsEstablish succession plans for key roles within the shiftMonitor attendance records, vacation schedules and payroll Ensure consistent application of policies Participate in employee selection and hiring; provide recommendations for promotions2.DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTIdentify cost reduction opportunitiesCommunicate and implement Corrective Actions resulting from customer complaints and internally identified opportunitiesIdentify opportunities to optimize allocation of resources and laborCommunicate with other functional areas and other shifts to maintain optimum safety, productivity and qualityLead Kaizen events and support 5S initiativesAs member of the manufacturing leadership team: develop, track and improve department metrics3.PROVIDE DIRECTION DURING THE SHIFTMinimum of 50% of the shift spent on the manufacturing floorAssign operators to machines, oversee break scheduleResolve conflicts and issues that arise to include but not limited to production, staffing, and quality; allocate resources as necessaryOversee and direct the troubleshooting of a variety of technical problems with assistance from tooling, maintenance, distribution and other functional areas as neededProvide leadership in times of emergency, evacuation or employee injuries.
