Qualifications
• MS SQL Server 2005 administration experience – must have
• Experience with Log Shipping and replication – must have
• Experience with database restore and recovery procedures and tools – must have
• Knowledge of SQL 2005 reporting server
• Experience writing advanced SQL queries as well as creating Stored Procedures, triggers and Views
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2003
Preferred Education: B.S. degree in information technology or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three (3) years of directly applicable IT experience.

• Ability to transfer written designs and specifications into working application programs

Job Functions
1. Work as a SQL Database Administrator using Microsoft technologies as a part of a development team and with a front-end design/development team.
2. Monitor and maintain database security
3. Maintain database operation manuals, logs and journals.
4. Monitor and take corrective action as required to fix any problems with Server performance, database performance, server availability, data integrity, or resource utilization.
5. Troubleshoot and optimize queries, reports and application response time.
6. Ensure that corporate security policies are followed with regard to database access.
7. Ensure that regular database backups are completing without errors. Recover databases as required.
8. Implement Disaster/Recovery plans.
9. Provide timely technical support to both application developers and end users.
10. Plan and perform upgrades to applications and SQL databases as requested.
