Search Engine Optimization Specialist

We are looking for a highly motivated Search Engine Optimization Specialist to provide world-class service to our Clients. In this role, you would be able to leverage your experience by working closely with Clients, Sales and Client Services to develop, execute, and optimize search marketing campaigns. You will be joining a team that is focused on results, works together to solve problems, and is committed to developing people.

The Search Engine Optimization Specialist will execute and implement Optimization strategies for various TravelCLICK clients and departments by understanding customer segmentation and creating tags and keywords that increase traffic from the target market segments, as well as copy optimization and link building optimization. By tracking, reporting and acting on the results of SEM metrics, the Search Optimization Specialist will improve client visibility in the marketplace.

Core Responsibilities:

Sales Support
• Support the Sales team by producing timely responses to proposals and custom solutions for new business.
• Develop targeted SEM campaigns and provide the Sales team with the tools and analytics to report our successes.
• Continuously seek opportunities to recommend cross-sells & up-sells internal Products and Services to clients; work with Sales team to close possible leads.

Organic Optimization
• Work with Sales, Clients, Client Services and other TravelCLICK employees to understand project requirements and provide organic optimization strategy. This would include:
o Extensive Keyword Research including hotel specific, geo-targeted, competition, and market demand driver keywords and phrases
o URL and Meta Data development
o Copy Development & Optimization
• Performs on-going revision and refinement of keywords, meta data and copy upon client approval.

Link Optimization
• Research & report client and competitor initiatives including: outbound/inbound/reciprocal linking; referral traffic volume; Google Webmaster Tools key performance indicators; local listings placement; search engine visibility and keyword page rankings; on-line public relations and social/viral marketing efforts; consumer generated/social media standings; meta travel search positioning.
• Provide critical analysis and develop an action plan; dialogue with client to explain benefits of link optimization proposal.
• Implementation and ongoing analysis and reporting as necessary.

Reporting & Analysis
• Use proprietary tools and internal resources to highlight significant trends.
• Use web analytics tools to monitor production and produce reports (Urchin, Omniture or similar).
• Prepares reports and provides strategic analysis & recommendations through monthly reports and dialogues and educates clients and internal constituents.

Other Duties
• Proactively monitor project status at all times to ensure timely and accurate delivery; reallocate or request additional resources as necessary.
• Deliver on industry-leading SLA’s for campaign management activities.
• Work with Systems Development and Information Technology resources to create and validate optimization techniques.
• Assist Media Planning with optimization of keywords and improved creative as requested.
• Research and maintain ongoing knowledge of hospitality industry and search engine strategy development and positioning via website subscription, blogs, and other travel & Search Marketing resources.



Job Requirements:
Education and experience:

• Degree or equivalent work experience in Marketing, Hospitality, Computer Science or another relevant field required.
• Hospitality Reservation Distribution & Revenue Management experience is a plus
• 1+ years search marketing experience preferred
o In-depth knowledge of SEO principles, factors and techniques (including meta data development, copy optimization and page ranking factors)
o Experience working with search engines including sitemap submission protocols and Google Webmaster Tools
o Experience using SEO tools such as WebPosition, WordTracker, Keyword Density, Google and Yahoo Keyword tools.
• Experience writing HTML and XML code is a plus, but not directly relevant
• PPC experience is a plus, but not directly relevant
• Must haves:
o Strong quantitative and analytical experience.
o Data entry and data manipulation skills.
o Experience w/MS Excel, Word & Powerpoint products.
o Proven ability to understand customer needs, build ongoing relationships, and create solutions.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation abilities or experience.
o Adapts easily to change and seeks continuous improvement in job function and skills.
o Ability to work independently, to organize and prioritize multiple project responsibilities, and to produce quality work under deadline pressure.
o Flexibility with schedule as work volume may warrant the occasional after-hours & weekend commitment to meet deadlines.
