Job Description:
The Enterprise Architect is a critical member of Ascentium’s Enterprise Solutions Division (ESD) and participates in all facets of our operations, including sales, delivery, hiring, and professional development.
An Ascentium Enterprise Architect is a top-flight technologist as well as a top-flight consultant—a seasoned professional that can perform many roles and excel at every one.
As a rapidly growing Microsoft Gold Certified Partner technical consultancy, Ascentium has engagements that run the entire spectrum. Our Enterprise Architects are required to be flexible and hands-on and must be able to “hit it out of the park” in any situation.
Here are some actual activities of one of our Enterprise Architects over a 2-year period:
Led a team of 12 consultants in a product development project for a Fortune 500 client.
Performed a week-long analysis of a client’s custom application infrastructure and development practices, drafting a recommendation document to improve both.
Installed Microsoft Office SharePoint Server at a client’s site.
Drafted and delivered sales presentations for potential clients of all sizes.
Worked with Ascentium Partners to define and implement ESD business strategy.
Drafted job descriptions, interviewed potential employees, and wrote performance reviews for members of the ESD staff.
Designed and coded a custom MS Dynamics CRM 3.0 integration solution.
Acted as the lead Architect for a multiyear, multimillion dollar integration project for a Fortune 500 company.
Job Requirements:
We are looking for Enterprise Architects who:
Are as comfortable debating the data-modeling centricity of the Zachman Framework as they are debating the subtle differences between the Adapter and Façade design patterns.
Are as happy producing UML Deployment diagrams as they are developing BizTalk Orchestrations.
Can and want to do whatever is needed to make an ESD engagement successful.
Are interested in playing a pivotal role in growing and shaping a Microsoft Gold Certified technical consultancy.
Can help lead teams, build morale, and grow the business.
Our ideal applicant would have the following experience and job knowledge:
10+ years of experience architecting and delivering solutions in the enterprise space.
4+ years professional consulting experience in the enterprise space, preferably with a top consulting organization.
Proven ability to sell to and strategize with enterprise organizations.
Proven ability to successfully lead teams in enterprise environments.
Encyclopedic knowledge of methodologies ranging from CMMI-inspired waterfall to Extreme Programming.
In-depth experience with enterprise architecture constructs such as Enterprise Service Bus, Service-Oriented Architecture, Software Factories, Model-Driven Architecture, and Enterprise Frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF, EUP, etc).
Expert-level skill in crafting enterprise-class solutions using Microsoft technologies like Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, MS CRM, BizTalk, Host Integration Server, SQL Server Integration Services, and/or the .NET Framework.
Experience integrating Microsoft solutions with legacy systems, particularly IBM legacy systems (zSeries and iSeries)
Facility with Design Patterns at all levels of abstraction.
Fluency with UML.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
