Job Description:
The Director's position is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will ensure a healthy, safe and hazard free environment. The Director will also ensure the development and evaluation of curriculum in an early childhood setting in consultation with the staff. The Director will help provide the vision, leadership and help facilitate the development of the program and is accountable for the quality of the program. The Director is committed to working with the families and articulates policies and strategies to reflect this. Administrative duties include: maintain current knowledge of provincial legislations and DNA/MCSS/MLHU standards. The Director will work alongside the Bookkeeper and Administrator on financial matters. The Director will be familiar with community resources and refer children with special needs when identified, meeting families' needs. The Director will facilitate staff meetings, perform annual appraisals and work with the Board of Directors. Hires program staff. Professionalism is extremely important in this role (confidentiality, membership to professional affiliation).
