Job Description:
 A distributor of passive, interconnect and electromechanical component seeks a Graphic Designer with 3+ years’ related experience in graphic print design. The candidate is accountable for creating print graphics to develop brochures, line cards, and other printed materials, and to assist with online-based creative graphics of web pages that contain a variety of content. Under the direction of the director of marketing the graphic designer’s responsibilities includes creating print graphics ready to go to the printer and web landing pages, banners, emails, microsites and email-based marketing programs. The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in fine art, graphic design, or a related field strongly preferred. Should have working knowledge of HTML, CSS and DHTML. Writing HTML code using Dreamweaver is a requirement. Manage workflow and deadlines on multiple, simultaneous projects while working closely with product managers, Web developers and ad agency to create and design online campaigns. Ability to create graphical layouts, prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material according to instructions from client or supervisor. Ability to work with raster and vector based images, such as continuous tone images and line based art. Understanding of typographic design concepts, guidelines, styles, and principles. Must have familiarity with the various types of printing materials and special services, such as various paper stocks, binding materials, spot colors, foils, embossing, die-cutting. Must be able to assess and approve the various proofing methods such as bluelines, matchprint, and soft (PDF) type proofs. Understanding and experience negotiating usage contracts dealing with stock art and photographic images for use in publications or advertising campaigns. Proficient using both Macintosh OS X and Windows XP based computers, as well as high-end digital cameras, flatbed scanners, media storage devices, and other related peripherals. Strong understanding of the elements of the Internet and Web sites.
