Job Description:
This position has considerable impact upon the plants contribution to the Growing Media divisions overall performance and customer relations. Key Work Performed Production, equipment maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, warehouse, distribution, and/or field operations. Assigns work and monitors progress, orients and trains associates, interviews and recommends hiring of applicants, evaluates associate work performance, counsels associates and/or implements disciplinary action, and establishes associate work schedules. Execution and enforcement of government, company and/or plant laws, procedures, and/or policies. Plans, coordinates, and supervises work activities and operations related to area(s) of responsibility; ensures quality and quantity standards are achieved in a cost effective and efficient manner; ensures availability of materials and supplies; identifies problems and initiates or recommends corrective action. Communicates, implements, and monitors safety programs and procedures, participates in and leads safety meetings; ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment; identifies safety improvements; leads and enforces housekeeping standards.
