Job Description: The employee will gather project requirements, design, implement, test, deploy and maintain internal e-commerce software systems that effectively model and support the GreaterGood Network business. They will also participate in the migration of existing Struts / EJB2 / Sybase applications to more current, open source frameworks.

Job Requirements: We are seeking a person who harbors an aggressive "self-teaching" motivation to learn new technologies. Problem solving and "outside the box" thinking are desired. Projects require a candidate who has an inventor's tenacity to take a problem and see it through to an elegant solution. The projects will have "high value" and "high visibility" and will most likely help benefit a number of great charitable causes. Must be a quick study. The demands of this job require that the candidate be able to learn and adapt quickly. Its OK to not know all the answers provided you know how to research and find them. A good foundation in understanding how technologies work and interact is ideal.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience: Four or more years of demonstrated knowledge and use of Java (preferred) or .NET experience. Java gurus are a definite plus. Familiar with Web Development/Client Technologies; EJB's, JBoss, Hibernate, JSF, JMS, Postgres / MySql, SOA and other open source Java projects is a definite plus but not required. Web knowledge of general issues is required. Familiar with database programming. Experience in an e-commerce environment is a plus. Excellent oral, written, problem solving skills and ability to establish priorities required. Effectively multi-task and prioritize projects. Strong interpersonal skills and client service attitude. Communicate effectively with all co-workers and managers. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail required. Self starter; willing to work independently or as part of a team. Passion for company mission is a plus. Sense of humor required.
The successful candidate will be comfortable being part of a very small development team. The candidate will exhibit ownership and attention to detail in the absence of more formal Quality Assurance. Candidates will also be able to meet deadlines and troubleshoot and fix software bugs in a timely fashion.
The right candidate is an individual who wants to bring their technical talents to help make a difference supporting on-line activism. This person will have an interest in long-term position, with stable high-energy company.
