Job Description:
To take the lead in the establishment of a biostatistical competency oriented towards laboratory science (analytical tests and process development) for biodiscovery and biodevelopment functional areas. This includes test development, optimization and validation, process development, optimization and validation. The position will also interface strongly with corresponding position in IO for method and process transfer as well as with the Biostatistical group of the Regulatory Agencies as appropriate.
* To assist in the design of all studies requiring biostatistical support for lab sciences from POC activities to transfer into development, from method or process development, method or process optimization to final validation
* To define appropriate statistical methodologies for such studies and write statistical analyses sections of study protocols
* To provide the statistical data analysis and reports for such studies
* To assist scientists in optimizing studies if necessary, taking into account study objectives and constraints.
* Collaborates extensively with the Biostatisticians within the Company to share experiences and implement and improve standardization of statistical approaches.
* Keeps up to date on the theoretical and technical improvements in statistics by developing a network of expert collaborators, attending training courses and/or conferences as necessary
* To ensure the USDA requirements regarding Biostatistics issues are fulfilled and to communicate that to the project team as required.
* Be prepared to answer Regulatory questions regarding Biostatistics matters and interface with USDA Biometrics.
* Serves as the primary point of contact for contractors on Lab science Biostatistics matters.
* To support or replace temporarily the statisticians in other areas (clinical, IO) as needed according to work load
Job Requirements:
The position requires:
- A Ph.D. degree in a biostatistics with a minimum of 2 years of experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of biostatistics applied to lab sciences, preferably in industrial setting.
- Broad knowledge of statistical methodologies as they apply to method or process design, optimization and validation
- Experience with up to date methodologies (e.g. matrix design, design space…etc)
- Experience the application of statistics to quality by design, process controls, critical parameter identification, process and method transfer.
