POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will direct and lead the day to day activities, review and approve all outgoing invoices within the billing department, including managing collections of the amounts billed. This position will also oversee the design, implementation and improvement of billing and reconciliation processes. Additionally, this position will also oversee the revenue reserve of fees at risk and subsequent recognition of those fees.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Provide monthly analysis of revenue and revenue drivers to senior management with trend and variance analysis. Oversees billing and reconciliation of high volume transactions. Proactively investigates payment/billing issues and suggest solutions that will improve client relations. Interacts with various departments to assure complete understanding of contract requirements. Learns, assimilates and applies principles of effective billing techniques. Learns, assimilates and applies principles of revenue recognition policies Organizes work procedures, assumes responsibility and effectively bills, reconciles, maintains revenue reserves, and collects payments from customers with a minimum of supervision. Directs installation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives of the Company. Collaborates with internal departments and the client to resolve issues completely. Maintains confidentiality of Patient and Company matters. Supervises billing staff and ensures that they are adequately oriented and effectively performing daily responsibilities. Tracks issues to conclusion. Advanced excel and database query reporting. Liaison with Account Management, IT and Accounting to launch new contracts in accordance with company policy and procedures. Compares bills to forecast and analyzes financial effect. Performs other duties as assigned
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION: Financial analyst subordinates Managerial Responsibilities: Directly manages non-supervisory employees. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements: PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to analyze contracts, monitor data and compliance. Problem identification and problem-solving experience and skills. Knowledge of general accounting and data management principles. Advanced excel skills with spreadsheet analysis, data summarization and financial reporting. Audit skills. Possesses excellent problem solving techniques and abilities. Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations as they apply to billing. Excellent research skills. Ability to learn and apply process changes quickly and accurately. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work successfully with staff in Accounting, I.T., Account Management and client representatives. Strong work ethic.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or other related field. Masters degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years supervisory experience. Health care experience a plus. Accuracy, thoroughness, organization.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment; and, normal range of hearing and eye sight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
