Job Description: Key Job Responsibilities for Hydromet Reliability Engineer To provide support for equipment improvements and maintenance procedure upgrades. To Provide Leadership to Mine Predictive/Preventive Maintenance Program 1. Conducts root cause analyses to understand, prioritize, address maintenance equipment failures and makes recommendations for improvements. 2. Recommends additional data requirements to assist production and maintenance. 3. Develops and maintains required performance tracking programs for production and maintenance departments and alerts management on performance data trends. 4. Develop technical specifications for internal and external rebuild / repair process on critical components. 5. Develop process to assess rebuild / repair suppliers performance as well as affectivity of internal rebuild processes. 6. Develop processes to maintain integrity of critical components throughout component life cycle (transportation, storage, installation, etc).
To provide leadership to mine predictive/preventive maintenance program. To maintain a safe work environment by administering a proactive environmental, health and safety program oriented towards maintenance activities and zero accidents. To provide a liaison with production and preventive maintenance group. To develop and define a structure and format for documenting and communicating work of the reliability engineering staff.
To Provide Support for equipment improvements and maintenance procedure upgrades 1. Oversee engineering support for mechanical improvement projects within the division. 2. Draft failure mode and effect analysis sheets to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design. 3. Enhances skills, performance and development of all employees by sponsoring and promoting training programs so that adherence to specifications is ensured and work of the highest quality prevails.

Assures plant compliance with applicable MSHA and OSHA regulations. 2. Maintain protection of the health, environment and safety of FMI employees, contractors, and customers.

Effectively interfacing with RCM group to insure we are making the most of the information they provide. 3. Effectively interfacing with Plant Engineering to coordinate engineering services for the division. 4. Coordinate efforts with Mine Maintenance, Operations, Planning, Technical Staff. 5. Participate in corporate reliability teams to provide technical assistance to other facilities and to produce corporate standards. 6. Communicate reliability program efforts within the organization.
To develop and define a structure and format for documenting and communicating work of the reliability engineering staff. 1. Define system boundaries. 2. Define systems for implementation and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in appropriate Engineering discipline. Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferred. Three (3) years engineering experience in an area or areas relevant to assignment. Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering. Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. Skilled in managing engineering projects. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. Effectively Interfacing with Maintenance Services Shops to insure quality of services. Effectively Interfacing with RCM group to insure we are making the most of the information they provide. Effectively Interfacing with Plant Engineering to coordinate engineering services for the Division. Coordinate efforts with Crush/Convey Maintenance, Operations, Planning, Technical Staff. Participate in corporate reliability teams to provide technical assistance to other facilities and to produce corporate standards. Communicate reliability program efforts within the organization.
