Job Description:

John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Supervisor to supervise 2nd or 3rd shift skilled trades to support Davenport Works manufacturing equipment and facilities. In this position, you will: Serve as a first line liaison between wage employees and management in representing the company's interests with shop floor personnel. Prioritize work according to tactical business priorities (repairs, hazard elimination, preventative and predictive maintenance schedules, manufacturing improvement projects, new construction, and maintenance projects). Implement factory initiatives (specifically 5S and other DPS process improvements). Support off shift shipping/receiving and main crib activities when and where needed, as well as communicate between shifts to ensure continuity of the operation. Monitor individual and team performance. Take corrective action including discipline to ensure the company and its employees adhere to policies, practices, procedures and work rules. Education Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Technical Background with good mechanical aptitude to work with skilled trades. Solid understanding of Operations and Manufacturing. Demonstrated experience mentoring teams to achieve set goals. Understanding of employee relations including policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. Desired Skills and Experience 2+ years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, along with maintenance supervisory experience. Experience supervising employees in a union environment.
