Job Description: Job Description SUMMARY:
Oversees the entire project from bid through final acceptance by client. Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of all design and construction processes, including the selection, hiring, and oversight of specialty trade contractors. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of one large or multiple smaller projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through construction supervisors and workers. Construction Managers usually do not do any actual construction. Ensures quality control on entire project.
QUALIFICATIONS:

. Able to read blueprints and drawings. . Proficient with estimating software package(s). . Ability to utilize project management software to effectively manage projects. . Strong negotiating and problem solving skills. . Proven track record of success.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
. AA or BS degree in construction science, construction management,building science, or civil engineering a plus, but not required.
. 5-7 years related experience and/or training with experience in overseeing projects. . 3-5 years experience working with General Contractors/Chief Estimators.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. . Reviews project proposal or plan with sales team to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
. Prepares and presents estimate to customer. . Oversees the planning, scheduling and implementation of the project/design.
. Prepares an outline and work plan that assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. . Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel, determines best way to get materials to job project site, and ensures project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel, divides site activities into logical steps, budgets time and modifies schedules or plans as required to meet deadlines.
. Manage awarded projects to maximize profits and maintain customer satisfaction.
. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. . Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
. Responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses and complying with all safety codes and regulations.
. Often available 24 hours a day to deal with delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the project site.
Job Requirements: Bottom Line
1. BS degree required. Prefer the degree in construction science, construction management, building science, or civil engineering. 2. 5 years experience working for an Electrical Contractor overseeing projects. 3. 3 years experience working with General Contractors/Chief Estimators in Houston. 4. Local to Dallas
