Job Description:
Scapa North America, a manufacturer of specialty industrial and medical adhesive films and tapes, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic. Duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
•Responsible for preventative maintenance to production equipment, company vehicles, forklifts, etc.
•Analyzes mechanical problems on assigned equipment, plans for and makes necessary repairs.
•Responsible for assisting in the disassembly and reassemble of machinery.
•Construction of new, or alteration/rebuilding of used equipment for company use.
•Fabricates parts if not commercially available using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
•Follows all safety rules
•Periodically does visual walk through inspections of company facilities and equipment.
•Responsible for pick-up and delivery of material
Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years' experience in industrial maintenance and machine repair as well as the following skills: strong welding, fabrication, experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, good troubleshooting and repair abilities.
Knowledge of continuous web/paper machinery, along with some PLC/Electrical experience is a definite plus!
This position requires the ability to be "on call" for emergency repairs on a rotating basis. Some weekend work is required.
Lifting (up to 55 lbs), bending, climbing and snow removal is also required for this position.
