The Director will attend the respective networks full-group meetings and visit the network operational offices as necessary. 2. Interacts with the leadership of other NIH Institutes and Centers who co-sponsor some of the Networks and involves them in cross-institute coordination efforts as appropriate. 3. Scans the HIV research field, broader scientific environment and economic and political landscape to assist the Network Leadership with identifying opportunities (particularly around improved clinical trials logistics) that could be beneficial for expanding their research agendas and collaborative partnerships. 4. Provide strategic vision and overall management to the HANC Project and ensures the development of common cross-network coordination goals that are compatible with the research needs of each network. 5. Coordinates the strategic response of the Network Leaders to needs that have been articulated by the group, which may include through information gathering to support evidence-based leadership decisions. Provides mentorship to HANC staff and assists the HANC Project Manager with HANC staff development and management as necessary. Prepares reports on cross-network activities for the leadership groups use in assessing coordination impact and determining the optimal use of aggregate Network resources.
