Job Description:
Responsible for managing the Company’s supply position of light products with respect to economic conditions, marketing requirements and refinery supply. Study economic and statistical data in petroleum market; monitor and analyze market conditions on an ongoing basis and make recommendations as how best to optimize the Company’s position. Forecast production and consumption of petroleum in order to manage the supply of light fuels. Provide economic analysis to assist the company in negotiating and making decisions to enter into spot agreements for incremental purchases and/or sales of light fuels as may be required. Compile, analyze, and report data to explain economic phenomena and forecast petroleum market trends, applying mathematical models and statistical techniques. Develop economic guidelines and standards regarding supply of light fuels and prepare points of view used in forecasting trends and formulating economic policy. Coordinate with other Astra Group offices and Traders, both foreign and domestic, in an effort to assure that there is a free and complete exchange of ideas and information in an effort to promote the Company’s position. Support the Vice President of Product Supply and Marketing in the development and maintenance of systems for the reporting of margin projections, economic forecasts, inventory projections and hedging transactions. Provide economic data to support the Company’s marketing efforts for their production of blendstocks, feedstocks and marine fuel. Daily use of NYMEX and other financial instruments as pricing mechanisms and hedging tools.


Job Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics plus five years experience in the job offered or five years as an analyst in the petroleum industry dealing with specifications for products produced for local and international markets
