Job Description:
Lead machinist capable of taking complex and simple projects from kick-off through to completion. This would include analysis of part geometry, material, critical items, prints, lead-times etc. to design approaches/program/set-up/machine. After a process has been established the individual must successfully hand-off project to others.

Projects might consist of billet, casting, or tooling work (mold making). Projects range in complexity from high-tolerance parts with multiple set-ups to simple 2D billet work
IMPORTANT SKILLS/TALENTS:
Organization, leadership, ability to teach/train others, ability to produce and follow documentation, computer/technology, proficient/expert CAD, Windows, and programming. Quick learner, that is willing to adapt new machining techniques and employ previous experience. Must work well in a fast paced lead-time driven environment.

SKILLS PREFERRED:
Mori Seki VMC’s with Funuc 18i, Virtual Gibbs, Solidworks, DelCAM, Windows. Firm understanding of how to read and apply GD&T



Job Requirements:
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Expert CNC machinist. Proficient in machine shop theory and procedures, machine set-up, fixturing and layout techniques, CNC Operation, CNC programming, feeds/speeds etc.

• Ability to machine from CAD data only without engineering drawings.
• Ability to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and castings.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
• Enter commands (G-code) to retrieve, input, or edit machine functions
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine as required.
• Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications
• Sets-up and operate machine for First Article run to verify accuracy of machine settings and program
• Effectively communicate with engineers, project managers, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings necessary to complete projects, or other specifications.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.

We are a small vigorous company that specializes in manufacturing prototype and low-volume castings, and billet parts with industry leading lead-times. Our prototype parts consist of cast parts with post machining, simple through complex billet parts, and tooling and patterns from foundry material and Ren products. Typical order size is from 1-1000 parts. Machining lead-times range from 2 days to 2 weeks, and are not flexible.
