Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering activities major focus is directed to manufacturing systems, processes, standards, tooling and new technology; all designed to attain maximum production efficiency, at high-quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. Position Accountabilities: 1. Plan, organize and manage effective manufacturing engineering, plant engineering and environmental departments. Accountable to provide staff technical support to the manufacturing plant operation, line supervision and managers. 2. Provide Industrial Engineering and Plant Engineering support to evaluate and implement new manufacturing technology that will advance the manufacturing competitive position. 3. Support the plant with expertise in production layout, manufacturing systems, environmental compliance, tool design and Industrial Engineering. 4. Provide leadership for major projects such as footprint transfers, building expansions, major layout initiatives, etc. 5. Maintain production rates and line balances for the welding and assembly areas using both time studies and predetermined time systems such as Standards Pro. 6. Provide management reports that track our performance to either short term or long term goals. 7. Supply reports to government groups and corporate management on various subjects such as environmental performance, plant capacities, or plant statistics. 8. Extensive amount of independent thinking is required. 9. Must be able to work with all levels of the organization.
