Job Description:
Currently, we have a great opportunity for a highly motivated, hands-on professional to work with Business Development, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to provide a knowledge base for decision-making metrics. Specifically, you will: Develop and apply epidemiological methodology and data to issues of drug safety, risk management, and effectiveness Formulate and interpret analyses utilizing retrospective and prospective data gathered from both internal and external databases as well as literature sources Serve as an ongoing Global Safety representative in the review of all Amylin Integrated Summaries, as needed Assist Risk Management activities in the development, implementation and maintenance of product-specific pre- and post-approval risk management plans Coordinate development and monitor any registry or epidemiologic studies associated with approved products in collaboration with other key Amylin stakeholders Aid department or project teams through the design, conduct, and analysis of studies concerning population characteristics of diseases and the possible impact of agents for their prevention or treatment Utilize epidemiologic data to assist project teams in the design of clinical trials Provide critical safety epidemiologic link and on-going initiatives Maintain active involvement with external epidemiologic community Requirements This position requires: A Ph.D. in Epidemiology or Outcomes Research with related field experience 9-12 years of epidemiology or clinical research experience including designing and implementing epidemiologic studies on large databases Experience working with public access or HMO databases Effective in serving as an individual consultant, team member, or lead on projects Experience in clinical safety, pharmacovigilance and product risk management activities critical to performance of position activities The ability to initiate and maintain effective interactions with cross-matrixed direct reports and peers within Amylin as well as with corporate partners.
