Hispanic Information & Telecommunication Network. HITN-TV is America's only Latino-controlled and managed nonprofit public-interest educational television network. It provides a unique community-based educational, instructional and cultural programming unavailable from any new or older Spanish-language television network. But above all else it is in many respects a medium by which the Hispanic community can have a voice in what is a highly competitive communication environment. HITN-TV, through its programming and presence in the Hispanic community, exemplifies what the community is asking to see and hear in a Spanish language public-interest channel. We are looking to fill the following position: CHIEF ENGINEER - Television Applicants must have minimum of 7-10 years broadcast experience and a thorough knowledge of networking, station automation, desktop digital editing, and IT security; transmitter, RF. Must possess strong supervisory, leadership and customer service skills. Duties include ensuring compliance with FCC rules and regulations, evaluating and recommending equipment purchases, oversee maintenance and operations staff and assist with oversight of IT environment. Manage the transition to DTV for studio operations and transmitter. Minimum of 7-10 years experience in broadcast engineering Technical knowledge of station broadcast automation, electronic news and production systems, video editing and graphic arts systems. Ability to set expectations with engineering staff and hold them accountable for results. Experienced in planning medium- and long-range infrastructure needs to support station broadcast systems Experience with digital television technology.
