Job Description:
This is one of two CADD positions supporting a 5-person structural engineering team within a transportation design group of approximately 50 people.
The work will include preparing drawings for bridges, retaining walls, drainage structures, and related civil structures. The successful candidate will work both independently and under the direction of a structural engineer.
The day-to-day work will include generating new CADD drawings on the basis of hand sketches, as-built plans and/or sample plans; revising existing drawings in accordance with redlined comments; plotting drawings for review; maintaining and updating drawing database files; assembling sets of drawings for submittals; and participating with engineering staff in the planning and development of engineering designs.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity and experience with developing drawings in accordance with Arizona Department of Transportation Bridge Group standards and guidelines.

Job Requirements:
High School diploma
5 years of progressive experience with CADD drafting with at least 90% structures drafting for the last 2 years
Must have experience with Microstation
Thorough familiarity and experience with CADD drafting
2 years of experience with structural detailing
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Basic understanding of construction principles
