Job Description:
As a credit analyst, you will be responsible for reporting, forecasting, and policy analysis for Private Education loans. Primary responsibilities are as follows:
# Monitoring of reported results to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for the Private Loan portfolio.
# Identification and analysis of complex trends in business performance including both originations and portfolio indicators.
# Identify and develop new metrics, reporting processes and formulate areas of analytic focus to better capture and manage the asset quality of the Private Loan portfolio.
# Make recommendations for tactical and strategic action plans for execution within Credit and other functional areas as needed.
# Work with cross-functional colleagues, e.g. Finance, Sales, and Marketing to develop pro forma assumptions and optimize credit policy.
# Work with outside vendors to implement credit policy changes and reporting.


Job Requirements:
B.S. in quantitatively oriented field (statistics, economics, applied mathematics, engineering). MBA or Masters Degree in quantitative discipline preferred.
# Minimum of two years experience in Credit Risk Analysis or related field required.
# Consumer Credit experience preferred.
# Knowledge of credit risk management concepts required.
# Additional training in Finance for financial analysis a plus.
# Knowledge of student loans a plus.
# Technical skills with Mainframe/ PC SAS, UNIX, or other similar programs required.
# PC skills including Excel, Access, and Powerpoint required.
# Good communication skills (written and verbal) required.
# Must be comfortable making presentations to Upper Management
