Description
The Physical Security Engineer will have significant experience in electronic security systems. Candidate must have between 5 to 15 years of hands-on technical and working experience in electronic security systems (i.e. access control systems, intrusion detection systems, CCTV). Candidate must have experience in installation, testing and design of such systems, with in-depth technical and working knowledge of hardware, software and system integration of the various security equipment manufacturers and system integrators. Candidate must have a broad and in-depth understanding of the electronic security products market and new emerging technologies. A mandatory requirement is a thorough technical understanding of Homeland Security Program Directive – 12 or HSPD-12, and National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) standards on electronic security systems with particular emphasis on Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS 201). Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills are required. Strong customer relations are a must as this position requires interfacing with multiple vendors, contractors and government officials.

Job Requirements:
• BS in Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or related field
• Candidate must have a thorough understanding of physical security system principles
• 8-10 years experience in engineering and electronic security systems
• Previous experience working with government contracts
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Project
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
• Candidate must have completed a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
