Job Description:
Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Senior Telecommunications Engineer for an opportunity located in Bowie, MD.
Position Summary:
This position performs E3, EMI & EMC engineering analyses, RF measurements and testing of military systems and acts as a lead in engineering tasks supporting the Joint Spectrum Center or DOD sponsoring agency.
Working within the challenges of electronics-intensive environments, this position will develop Electromagnetic Environmental Effect requirements and perform E3 analyses and testing at subsystem and system level.
Minimum SECRET Security Clearance required.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Perform E3, RF measurements, EMI and EMC tests including development of test plans, site coordination, testing, data analysis, and report generation.
„X Field measurements, tests and analyses are to be performed in compliance with various DOD and E3 standards, including MIL-STD-461.
„X Report documentation to be generated in compliance with DOD and JSC standards.
2. Perform co-site, environmental, and RADHAZ analyses (HERO, HERP and HERF) of RF transmitter and electronic systems, provide techniques of mitigation or develop emission control plans to eliminate or moderate interference.
3. Perform Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference engineering analytical analyses using a range of models and software programs available through the JSC.
4. Act as team lead in engineering tasks including:
„X Developing project plans, plan staffing needs for projects, and draft and reviewing technical reports prior to customer submission.
„X Assigning employees to technical tasks based on project needs. (Staff and tasks assigned are based on project task order requirements.)
„X Directing communication with the customer and sponsoring agents to coordinate testing, analyses activities and project status.
5. Travel domestically up to 35% of the time may be required based on specific task order requirements.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Education/Training:
BS EE or equivalent in terms of education or military training and work experience in E3 disciplines.
Required Experience:
- 5 to 10 years experience in performing RF, E3, EMC, EMI and RADHAZ field measurements, tests and technical evaluations of DOD electronic / communication systems.
- Working knowledge and expertise of RF test and measurement equipment is required.
- E3 specifications (e.g. MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, FCC requirements) and E3 design techniques such as antenna isolation improvements, wire and cable separation/shielding design, electrical bonding design, and design of shielded volumes.
- Excellent communications and analytical skills.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with E3 analysis tools (e.g. IEMCAP, GEMACS, E3Expert, XFDTD)
- Experience in performing subsystem and/or aircraft system level E3 testing.
