Job Description:
The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is currently seeking a Management Liability Underwriter to join its Cleveland Executive Protection Practice.
The Executive Protection Practice is part of the Chubb Specialty Insurance (CSI) strategic business unit at Chubb. The Executive Protection department focuses on management and professional liability products including Directors & Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), Crime, Kidnap & Ransom for privately held companies.
The underwriter will help achieve department goals for profit, rate and growth. The underwriter is also responsible for building relationships with producers, negotiating price, developing prospects, managing profitability, retention and new business goals, as well as creating business plans for assigned territory. The candidate must be able to work effectively with local and remote underwriters, customer service representatives, underwriting associates, and claims examiners. This position reports to the CSI Manager. The production underwriter will be responsible for participating in the retention and growth of a $37 million CSI book of business.
The territory covered by this position consists of Northern Ohio.
Required Skills:
Demonstrates leadership and strong analytical and financial analysis skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in sales, marketing and negotiation
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
Proven track record of building strong business relationships with brokers and customers
Underwriting knowledge of D & O, Crime, Kidnap/Ransom, Fiduciary, and Employment Practices Liability preferred
Working knowledge or experience in other Chubb Specialty Insurance lines of coverage is beneficial
