Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Engineering Specialist is based in the Newbuild Services group to assist on major electrical issues on the drilling equipment, diesel generator tests, thrusters and main marine systems equipment. The position requires the individual to proactively work to aid the company in reducing equipment downtime, evaluating major equipment failures. The position requires close work relationships with the main equipment suppliers to solve equipment problems and to develop and implement upgrades. Facilitates the lessons learned process on equipment failures by clearly communicating the solutions to all applicable rigs in the fleet. Duties will include preparing specifications, review manufacturer drawings and calculations, inspect work done by subcontractors and vendors, and attend FAT’s on new and overhauled equipment and commissioning new systems.

Job Requirements:
Strong technical background in heavy equipment, diesel engines, and mechanical issues relating to this equipment. Associates in Applied Sciences degree or equivalent, with extensive application experience in the respective discipline or technical degrees would benefit.
Minimum 10 years’ work experience with offshore drilling contractor, marine contractor/engineer, or pipe handling equipment manufacturer. Should have a strong
