Job Description:
You must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. You must certify you are physically able to perform the duties of this job. A one year supervisory trial/probationary period may be required. If selected a pre-employment investigation is required. Major Duties: Major Duties: Plan distribution of work to subordinate commissary store employees, to include scheduling of personnel to meet changing and/or seasonal workload requirements. Assign work and explain work requirements, methods and procedures. Identify deficiencies and take corrective action. Train newly assigned commissary personnel in the operation of equipment, including safety regulations governing the work, observation of sanitation requirements etc. Responsible for evaluating employees on their performance and rating their abilities for their appraisal period. Recommends changes in work methods which will improve the timeliness or quality of work performed by subordinates. Insure that work areas and equipment are properly cleaned in accordance with commissary store standards. Qualifications: Qualifications Requirements: To meet the screen-out for this position, applicants must show they have the ability to lead or supervise others, and must be able to perform the work of a Material Handler without more than normal supervision. Examples of experience that would indicate this ability are experience or training pertaining to the performance of duties associated with leading or supervising, receiving, prepositioning, assembling for issue, and distributing a wide variety of merchandise, products, and supplies peticuliar to a commissary store. Physical Requirements: Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods while unloading or loading trucks.
