Job Description:
General Job Description
To provide efficient, quality and courteous service to all this companies HVAC customers.
Primary Job Duties
1. Must be able to read and understand equipment wiring diagrams and be able to troubleshoot and repair based on the above knowledge.
2. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of basic refrigeration & heating systems part/components and their applications
3. To be proficient in the diagnosis of HVAC controls and equipment problems and to recommend the repair or replacement of said equipment as to be in the best interest of the customer.
4. To be proficient in the use of an acetylene torch for the cutting and braising of piping and components for the repair of leaks and installation of HVAC components.
5. To be proficient in the recovery and charging of refrigerants used in AC equipment and to follow all EPA mandates for refrigerant recovery.
6. To be proficient in electrical diagnostics and repair.
7. To write and communicate, on a daily basis, legible and comprehensive service tickets and report to dispatch labor and materials used.
8. To communicate with customers regarding the nature of the repair, replacement or installation. Exp. Letting the customer know if you have to leave and pick up a part.
9. To clean up and dispose of any debris left after the job has been completed.
10. To adhere to all safety procedures set forth in this companies Safety Handbook and facility/customer safety programs.
Experience
At least 7 years experience in commercial/industrial HVAC
Qualifications
Must possess a Journeyman license (if working in Kentucky) or acquire within 6 mos. of employment; EPA Section 608 Clean Air Act certification. Must be able to lift between 50 to 75 lbs.; scale an extension ladder w/30 lb. tool belt; reposition a 32 ft. extension ladder that weighs 75 lbs.; work at roof top heights and work in extreme temperatures/conditions. Must have own hand tools and have a good driving record.
