As such, the Medical Director partners with the Account Director to provide strategic input for publication plans, and to identify appropriate tactics. Operationally, the Medical Director is responsible for ensuring that content development is accurate, balanced, efficient, consistent, current, and complies with industry and company compliance guidelines. The Medical Director is expected to work effectively with clients, faculty, and team members. A Medical Director collaborates closely with the account teams medical writers, and is responsible for clearly communicating content needs to the medical writers, and for guiding graphic designers on concept expectations.
