This person will provide medical director support to the Dedicated Patient Management unit in HighPoint, NC The Medical Director (MD) is responsible for providing clinical expertise and business direction in support of medical management programs to promote the delivery of high quality, constituent responsive and cost effective medical care. The MD is a critical medical and business leader and contact for external providers, plan sponsors, and regulatory agencies and participates in the strategic medical management The Medical Director is responsible for oversight/management of medical services in High Point, NC for the assigned book of business. Responsible for the implementation of Aetna's medical management services policies and procedures. Communicates strategic plan and specific tactics to meet plan. Ensures implementation of tactics to meet strategic direction for medical management cost and quality outcomes. Creates direction and communicates a business case for change by focusing on and addressing key priorities to achieve business results. Ensures consistency with national program strategic direction and design while delivering on specific customer requirements for assigned book of business. Identifies opportunities to implement best practice approaches and introduce innovations to better address the member's needs across the continuum of care. Accountable for meeting the financial, operational and quality objectives of the unit. In concert with the Plan Executive Director, this role will be a key member of the leadership team, accountable for the overall results of the program.
