Job Description:
*Develop and implement a coordinated purchasing strategy for OTC for major spend categories (Marketing, R&D etc.)*Provides strategic direction to purchasing sites globally in proposed categories.*Selects suppliers in conjunction with cross-functional (and/or cross-BU) teams using the Novartis Category Management process*Negotiates agreements with suppliers that will specify the quality of the goods/services received, and insures that we receive these services at competitive price levels*Acts as Project Manager on High Intensity Projects, contributing to the team with the ability to diagnose problems, achieve results in short timeframes, create a sense of urgency, and develop innovative solutions towards the achievement of the team\'s goals.*Installs processes that insure the maximum value received for the goods and services and the elimination of waste.*Builds purchasing profile with senior management*Insures all spend levers (e.g. specifications, demand management, management approval processes) are reviewed and acted upon as appropriate.
