Job Description:
Ballas Technical Staffing, a leader in the recruitment of engineering and technical professionals, has an immediate opening for a CNC Mill and Lathe Specialist in Chicago, Il. This position and company offer long term career growth for the right person.
As a CNC Mill and Lathe Specialist you will be responsible for efficient set-up and operator for Mazak M-5/QT-20, Manual Engine Lathe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. This position requires the capability to machine parts to tolerance with manual controls on a piece by piece basis.
2. Operates one or more conventional machine tools, including lathes.
3. Works within close tolerances to meet customer/contract specifications, and applies knowledge of blueprints, charts, qualities of metals and alloys being machined.
4. Interprets tables, handbook formulas, sketches, and written and verbal orders.
5. Lays out work according to requirements.
6. Makes set-ups using proper tools, fixturing, and attachments to efficiently perform the machining operation.
7. Performs any bench work necessary to finish and fit parts to required customer specifications.

Job Requirements:
Fanuc/Mazatrol/Haas Controls, VMC's.
Programming experience is a plus.
Engine Lathe experience a preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.
Ability to use all measuring equipment related to Engine Lathe operations.
Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Ability to communicate with engineering staff using technical terms.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, lead person and other employees.
Ability to work to .0005 tolerance.
