Job Description:
The Cisco Media Solutions Group is building Cisco Eos, an online-and-beyond media delivery and community platform. We are a startup group within Cisco, working in a highly collaborative and creative environment in San Francisco.We are ultimately tasked with delivering a leading product tailored to both media publishers and consumer users. In this we anticipate tremendous scale, and are looking for an experienced Operations leader to oversee our continued buildout.Responsibilities of this role include:* Ensure initial and continued deployment, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and emergency response for a consumer-facing, enterprise-class 24x7 web service* Overall service architecture and documentation* Manage and grow the team responsible for evaluation, installation and maintenance of equipment* Develop, maintain and adhere to operating and capital budgets* Manage vendor relationships and service delivery, including global facility build-out* Manage migration from development > QA > staging > production* Manage servers, storage, hosting, domain names, etc.* Define vision and planning for short and long term operational goals* Align team and goals with over-all business objectives* Work closely with Engineering on standards and best practices* Handle escalations and pass through Engineering, Customer, and Business* Manage SLAs to customer and from vendors/partners* Manage escalations and reporting during service interruption events* Corroborate invoicing with service data* Evaluate third-party tools and vendors for future service delivery* Align overall parent technical solutions to platform solutionsOur ideal candidate will have the following experience and capabilities:* Building out worldwide redundant operations from scratch, scaled astronomically* Responsibility for a huge consumer-facing hardware concern (servers and storage) buildout * Media- and content-delivery-related work* Managing dynamics between services organizations and engineering * Programming experience* Vendor management experience* Has worked closely within ITIL standards* Strong understanding of SOX and SAS compliance issues* Experience with large company dynamics * Worked with small and large groups and can handle conflict * Worked closely with QA groups and understand product lifecycle* History consuming and enjoying media
