Job Description:
The Senior Software Engineer will design, maintain and upgrade the client instrument Database (instrument resident repository of system configuration and results) as well as the internal and external Web Service interfaces to client instrument.
Job Requirements:
The Sr. Software Engineer responsibilities include implementation of critical embedded applications and control algorithms necessary for reliable operation of the Client tool as well as participate in iterative development of The Client. The successful individual shall also develop web based user interface for instrument setup, monitoring, results reporting and data download. S/He will have experience developing in the agile with iterative environment utilizing careful source control and unit test in a product environment.
•Experience in developing control software for real time instrumentation including device interface, control algorithms and user interface is required.
• Knowledge of C#, some C++ is also required. The ability to see the “large picture” and understand design, implementation, and performance tradeoffs is a must. Also having good object oriented design skills is important.
•Experience with Linux and developing Web Interfaces to real time instrumentation is preferred. A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering along with 4 year experience is expected.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Agile/iterative software development; Automated Unit Test
•SQL Database development in C# using Visual Studio .NET
•SQL Database and IIS Administration
•WebServices Development (WCF or equivalent)
Qualifications:
•Knowledge of commercial desktop database products (MySQL)
•Knowledge of techniques for high speed high volume data transfer over HTTP
•Test Driven Development
•Experience with C++ and Linux
•Experience with Object/Relational Mappers (O/RM)
•Experience with Development of Instruments with Embedded Database Servers
