Job Description:
Our client, a successful alternative investment firm, seeks a qualified addition to its Operations Team. Responsibilities Include: Completion of registration process for previously private investments Settlement of sales transactions for private investments Calculate month-end valuation for joint ventures Successful completion of documentation for closing of loans Ensuring cross-communication of critical information between firm departments Assist with funding of new direct investments, year-end audit and financial statement preparation Calculate and prepare quarterly IRR calculations Assist with the preparation of monthly closing packages for joint venture companies Assist Controller of Alternative Investments and CFO on special projects Confirming trades and sending out allocations to counterparties and resolving trade settlement issues and log resolution on a timely basis Discovering, researching and resolving transactional and valuation discrepancies Coordinating loan and payments funding and withdrawals and special requests Liaise between portfolio managers, traders and trustees for all portfolio-specific activity and issues Prepare and maintain daily cash reconciliations for alternative investments and monthly cash reconciliations for private/joint venture companies Prepare asset reconciliation with custodian and track investments held at custodian Daily processing of income and principal paydowns on alternative investments Settlement of non-public investments Preparation of accounting files for new private investments and Special Purpose Vehicles Experience Required: BS or BA in Finance or related discipline Minimum one to three years of investment management operations experience Hedge fund or private equity experience and accounting a plus Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong organization and time management skills Able to work independently and as a team member with a willingness to help others Strong fixed-income product knowledge, particularly bank loans, CLO\'s, CDO\'s variable rates securities, derivatives Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel - knowledge of formulae a must Working knowledge of Portia, CDO Suite, BB Trading, Microsoft Access or other databases a plus Basic knowledge of Bloomberg required Our client is looking to hire as soon as possible., For more information, please visit to OperationsCrossing.
