Job Description:
The indivdiual in this role has complete responsibility for the facility operation of a 285,000 sq. ft. distribution center. Responsibilities includes recruiting, hiring, staffing, and managing labor relations. Also responsible for complying with OSHA, FDA, Covidien Corporate Quality Assurance, and Factory Mutual policies, procedures and requirements. Manage transportation suppliers, facility layouts, procurement of supplies and material handling equipment, production rates, security, inventory and adhering to customer requirements. Utilize computerized bar coding systems for productivity measurements, lot and serial number control and customer order processing.--Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.--Understand and comply with all current corporate policies and procedures.--Execute daily decisions of production, labor placement, hiring of indirect labor, termination and discipline; scheduling of work flow, distribution center layout and production, systems used; quality management and measurement. Customer orders must ship same day to meet strict customer lead-time requirements. --Manage and enforce warehouse procedures for the organization and security of both inventory and physical assets.--In the absence of the Distribution Center Manager, oversee the complete operation of the distribution center, including the office.--Ensure that export, Canadian shipments, inbound Purchase Orders, meet all receipt cycle requirements within 24 hours.--Meet all budgetary commitments with a low throughput cost. Requirements Education: BS Degree in Business, Finance, Logistics or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience.Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Required certifications - Continuing ED-AST&L; APICS, Word Certification, CLM.Skills/Competencies: Personal computer expertise.Other Skills: Must be able to speak, read and write the English languageMust be relocatable for future advancement., For more information, please visit to BlueCollarCrossing.
